Helene Webster
Director of Members Services

Helene Webster started working at the IEC in March of 2004 as the Membership Director, building the foundation of the 200+ contractor memberships we have today. She now occupies the position of Deputy Executive Director, where her duties include assisting the Executive Director with all management responsibilities of the association, daily budgeting, and HR offering decisions. Helene has the honor of representing our chapter at the State and National functions and also sits as an alternate, representing the IEC on the Construction Industry Council for the City of Houston. She believes that the IEC has helped her grow unilaterally in skills and strengths as a business executive.

Born in Winter Park Memorial Hospital, Helene was raised in a small town near Cocoa Beach, Florida named Rockledge, where she graduated from high school in 1981. She went on to attend Brevard Community College, and then the University of Central Florida in 1984, where she received her bachelor’s degree in three years. Helene taught fitness from 1990 to 2016. Beginning as a kinesiology adjunct faculty member at Lone Star College, she moved her way over to teaching aerobics, Body Combat, Body Pump and Body Flow at the Lake Houston YMCA. After working as the director of a kids fitness program for 4 years, she eventually decided to be an Assistant Instructor/Dive Master at W.W. Diving in Humble, Texas… all before arriving at the IEC!

Along with being a part of the Wine Committee for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in March, Helene loves staying active and hanging with friends and family. In her spare time, she enjoys participating in water sports such as jet skiing, boat riding, and even operating the boat. She absolutely loves SCUBA and had the privilege to take many groups of divers to wonderful dive destinations while she worked with the SCUBA shop.

Helene is the mother of four wonderful children; her daughter, Becky is a Chemical Engineer and married to Helene’s son-in law, Christopher; her son, David is also a Chemical Engineer; her son Chris is a graduate of the University of Texas with a double major in Astronomy & Physics; and her youngest son, Taylor is in High School and competes on the Golf Team. Helene had one Grandchild, Wesley and “grandkitten” named Mushi. She owns two beautiful puppy dogs, a Yorkie named Kahlua and rescue Pomeranian/Papillion mix named Johnny Walker Blue (his name had to go with Kahlua…).

Although never serving in the military herself, Helene did grow up in a military household, where she spent a lot of time at the commissary and the PX.
